Check out my new comedy show

"Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian" debuts next week, off West End

I’m super excited to announce that - after many months of preparation - I’ll be debuting my new one woman comedy, clowning and improv show “Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian” next week off West End at the Courtyard Theatre.

Nestled in the heart of Shoreditch, the Courtyard has been a cornerstone of the London fringe theatre scene for three decades and will be the perfect place to open the show before I tour the UK with it in 2025.

I’ve been so fortunate to have collaborated with the brilliant Didi Hopkins - well known for her work in contemporary theatre, traditional Commedia dell’Arte and with artists such as Miles Jupp and Eddie Izzard - on the theatrical moments in the show. Audience members should expect the unexpected -  from singing to silly props and heartfelt moments, hopefully we’ve created a performance that will leave you smiling.

In case you’ve never seen me perform live before, “Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian” is the third in a trilogy of one woman shows in which I look backwards at my life. “Coming out of my Box” (for which I won Best LGBTQ+ Performance at The Planet Awards) explored my coming out journey. My second show “Me:Em” was about working out who I am and want to be in the world. “Tales from a Little Laughing Lesbian” is a backwards look at times I put myself in situations where I was out of control so I could learn to finally become comfortable with myself “just be.”

It’s a feel-good show that offers a little bit of something for everyone, making it the perfect way to kick off the festive season.

2024 has also been dubbed the Year of the Lesbian Renaissance (who knew?!) because lesbian culture has become more prominent in entertainment, fashion, and music. Although I didn’t know this when I made the show, it feels right to me to close this year with a performance that, although deals with universally relatable themes, openly acknowledges my sexual identity. To me, it is important to be visible and representative as a lesbian woman to foster acceptance and equality. I hope that it also has the power to inspire and encourage others.

With that, I really hope to see you at one of my performances (it is a three night run) next week!

PS here’s what preparing for the show has looked like - learning 17 pages of script, rehearsing for hours in a room and working props into the performance
